The deceased’s father, Joseph, his aunt, Kolawole Bosede, and grandmother, Felicia Adedara, were present at the inauguration.

The investigation team, which will be domiciled in the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Lagos State Police Command, is headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Saheed Kazeem.

Members of the team include Mohammed Yusu, Adesida Adefisayo, Ameh Michael, Oisa Roseline, Mayowa Owoeye and Babatunde Victor

Others are Head Of Investigation, Cardoso Yetunde, Umar Bello, Augustine Nwabuisi, Ayitu Akama, Elizabeth Olokode and Queen Agofure

The CP tasked the team to provide an interim report within two weeks to give a clear direction, while they continuously share progress report.
He said: “What we owe the family, associates of the deceased, entire society and his fan base is justice and that is exactly what the Command, under my watch, with support of the Lagos State Government and Inspector General of Police (IGP) is set out to achieve.

“We have resolved to constitute a special team that will do the investigation, and this is based on the fact that through our preliminary investigation of all the facts and allegations from the social media and interaction with some strategic elements linked to the incident, we think they are good grounds to open a case of homicide. So, we want to take the bold step towards giving effect to our determination to get to the root of the circumstances that led to the death of Mohbad.

“The investigation will be complex and technical, but we draw confidence in the fact that the governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured us of his support to aid our drive for justice.
