Today, at the Passing-Out Parade of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, significant developments were announced to support the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) community in Lagos.
In a major boost to the program, the Lagos State Government has allocated N5 billion for the construction of a new Permanent Site for the Lagos NYSC Camp. This investment demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing the NYSC experience for corps members serving in the state.
Each of the passing-out corps members will receive a token of appreciation of N100,000, recognizing their dedication and hard work in contributing to the development of Lagos over the past year. Their expertise and service have been invaluable to the state.
Furthermore, the government has introduced a new initiative to reward excellence, offering automatic employment in the Lagos Public Service to the top 100 performing corps members after their service year. This initiative aims to nurture talents and recognize outstanding contributions.
To enhance transportation for corps members, a 32-seater Hyundai bus has been provided.
These announcements mark the beginning of many more initiatives aimed at making the NYSC experience in Lagos a memorable and impactful one. The Lagos State Government remains committed to building a Greater Lagos, and these investments in the NYSC program demonstrate its dedication to supporting the youth and recognizing their contributions to the state’s development.
