The Lagos State government has announced plans to hold a three-day trade fair in the tourism and hospitality sector in partnership with Naija Brand Chick (NBC). The goal of the event is to highlight the state’s vast tourist potential and is expected to draw in over N5 billion in investment.

This was revealed yesterday at a joint press briefing with NBC to provide highlights of the three-day trade fair, held at the Press Center, Alausa, Ikeja, by Idris Aregbe, the governor’s special adviser on tourism, arts, and culture.

“With tremendous pride and excitement as we announce a historic collaboration that represents a significant shift away from traditional governance approaches,” Aregbe stated.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our values-driven collaboration with Naija Brand Chick (NBC).

This coalition aims to amplify rather than merely cooperate. It’s about elevating the Lagos Tourism NBC Trade Fair to previously unheard-of levels and using it as a crucial spark for our network of entrepreneurs.

The landmark event that ushers in a new age in hospitality and trade shows is scheduled for June 14–16, 2024.

We strive for nothing less than perfection under the inspiring direction of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and with the unwavering backing of the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

“Our aggressive sales target of N5 billion speaks volumes about our commitment to promoting prosperity and economic growth.”

According to Aregbe, a variety of industries will come together at this year’s event, including travel and hospitality, fashion and personal care, arts and crafts, adventure and recreation, and home and leisure.

It is evidence of our steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

The event is expected to attract a large number of attendees and traders, who will have the opportunity to exhibit their products, reach a larger market, and support the thriving Lagos economy,” the speaker stated.

NBC’s chief executive officer, Mrs. Nelly Agbogun, called the upcoming trade show “unprecedented” during her brief remarks.

There will be nothing like this trade show. We are enthusiastic about this initiative. It will open up a plethora of investment options for Nigeria overall and Lagos specifically.
