Lagos State has officially welcomed Pelumi Nubi, the state’s Tourism Ambassador, as she marks the one-year anniversary of her groundbreaking solo road trip from London to Lagos.
On Tuesday, the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, received Nubi on a courtesy visit to her office, where they discussed her plans to further showcase Lagos as a top travel destination.
With this milestone, Nubi is also looking to give back in a meaningful way, and the Lagos State Government has expressed its commitment to supporting her initiatives.
Pelumi Nubi, a Nigerian travel enthusiast and content creator, made history in April 2023 by embarking on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, a feat that earned her recognition from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who later appointed her a Lagos Tourism Ambassador.
Her journey, marked by adventure and resilience, has placed Lagos on the global tourism map. As she plans her next steps, the Lagos State Government aims to leverage her inspiring story to further promote tourism, adventure, and cultural experiences within the state.
