As part of the Federal Ministry of Works’ continuous maintenance on the Third Mainland Bridge, the Lagos Island – Iyana Oworo bound lane will be blocked to cars on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 12:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 7.

As a result, drivers using this road are encouraged to utilise the other routes that were previously posted at this time.

Please take notice that drivers traveling to the island at this time may still use the Iyana-Oworo internal carriageway.

Following this 36-hour closure, the original traffic diversion plans for the bridge will be reinstated.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, thanked Lagosians for their unwavering understanding and tolerance and made a further plea for continuing collaboration with the traffic management officials stationed along the Axis to minimize inconvenience during this closure.
