In a bid to enlighten Lagos residents about the ILERA EKO Health Insurance Scheme and consumer rights, the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) and the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) held a media parley on Wednesday at Protea Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, media representatives, and beneficiaries of the ILERA EKO scheme, to discuss affordable healthcare and consumer rights.

Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, Permanent Secretary of LASHMA, highlighted the agency’s commitment to ensuring quality healthcare services for all residents. She emphasized the importance of protecting consumer rights and introduced the upgraded ILERA EKO Standard Jaara plan, which offers additional benefits like annual wellness checks and specialized treatments.

Afolabi Solebo, General Manager of LASCOPA, reiterated his agency’s commitment to protecting consumer rights and ensuring quality services. He praised LASHMA’s initiative and encouraged residents to enroll in the ILERA EKO scheme, which has over 857 healthcare providers across Lagos State.

Solebo also highlighted LASCOPA’s success in resolving consumer complaints and assured residents that the agency is equipped to address grievances. He provided contact details and encouraged residents to report issues with service providers.

The event featured testimonials from beneficiaries and an interactive session with stakeholders. Both agencies called on the media to assist in spreading awareness about ILERA EKO and consumer rights.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Lagos State Government’s efforts to promote Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and protect consumer rights. With the support of the media and stakeholders, LASHMA and LASCOPA aim to continue driving awareness and ensuring every resident benefits from the ILERA EKO Health Insurance Scheme.
