The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority(LASTMA) has inducted and decorated the State Auditor-General/Permanent Secretary, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola, as a Special Traffic Mayor.
The ceremony was conducted by the Director, Awoyemi Jimmy of the Department of Traffic Advocacy and Special Traffic Mayor, LASTMA on Monday at the State Auditor-General’s Office in Alausa, Secretariat, Ikeja
According to him, the initiative aims to enhance traffic efforts by securing the support and cooperation of distinguished Civil servants in Lagos State.

LASTMA is an initiative that seeks to Strengthen Public participation in traffic Management, promote safety awareness, improve the economy of the State and facilitate timely emergency response mechanisms across Lagos
In his remarks, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola expressed his gratitude and commended LASTMA for the laudable idea. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Agency’s mission of ensuring efficient traffic flow, reducing infractions and congestion in the State.
“The role of LASTMA in managing traffic is commendable and I am honoured to contribute to their efforts as a Special Traffic Mayor. I look forward to collaborating with the Agency to improve traffic conditions and safety for all road users”, he stated
The initiative was also designed to encourage responsible road usage and enhance communication channels for real-time traffic feedback.
Adetola added that the development underscores the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to efficient traffic Management, safety, and Public engagement in tackling transportation challenges in the Megacity of Lagos.
