With his hit song “Fierce,” Laycon connected with the Nigerian audience and caused a stir that went well beyond the reality show.

Laycon did not rest on his laurels after winning; instead, he made the most of his newfound prominence in the music business. He marked the dawn of a new era with the release of his debut album, “Shall We Begin,” with an unwavering work ethic and vision.

A statement of Laycon’s confidence in his own abilities, “Like A King” (from his sophomore album “BIOBA”) is released two years later.

In the music video for “Shine,” Laycon demonstrates his understanding that being a King entails caring for your community by giving of his time and resources to help those in need.

Laycon discussed his choice to share love on the streets in a music video that will serve as a reminder to listeners of Drake’s “God’s Plan.”

“The Shine video allowed me to establish a connection between my light and its source of power. And the people in my immediate vicinity, you, and us are the source of this power. I believe that we are each other’s light source, and that other people shine through us and vice versa as we shine.”

In the Laycon, he shows love to the students by paying their school fees; to the drivers, he covers their petrol costs; and to everyone from diverse backgrounds, homes and beliefs, he covers their mall shopping expenses.
