LNSA IS A COMMUNITY POLICY GAME CHANGER – RRS

The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, according to CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Commander of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), is revolutionising community policing.

Speaking at a visit to the Agency’s headquarters at the Multi-Agency Complex in Bolade, Oshodi, CSP Egbeyemi characterised members of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) as the state’s most orderly paramilitary group.

As per his statement, “LNSA is the first State Police doing our job that is borrowed from the Federal Constitution, and proximity is the first stage of development.”

In order to strengthen the synergy between the RRS and the police, the RRS Commander also suggested that on a monthly or quarterly basis, the police train twenty officers through joint operations with the RRS.

Also to raise the morale of LNSC officers and provide them with more knowledge on how to work well with other security groups in the state, he also suggested that there be a meeting where police officers could speak to them.

Prior to this, the RRS Commander was cordially welcomed to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency by Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan FSIN, General Manager of the Agency, who also expressed gratitude for his ongoing support, particularly for those who go above and beyond their call of duty as police officers.

He claimed that thanks to Egbeyemi’s extensive knowledge and ongoing guidance, the agency has undergone significant change.

“The recent CP was in our agency based on CSP Egbeyemi’s recommendations regarding the Agency,” stated Oyekan. I would like to beg other State Police formations to consider LNSA Corp Officers as an additional resource.”

The General Manager continued, “With the assistance of other Security Agencies, particularly the RRS, the LNSC has been able to foil numerous robberies, one-chance, rape, kidnapping, and other crimes that hoodlums were committing in the State.”

“Visitors and residents of Lagos State have our Governor to thank for these synergies that have worked wonders and I can assure Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is willing to do more with our support as citizens” , said the governor.
