In preparation for the commencement of passenger operation of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line, the training of staff engaged for the operation has opened at the Nigerian Railway Corporation’s Training Centre.
Those undergoing training includes train drivers, station managers, customer service representatives, passenger operators, traffic dispatchers, Power dispatchers, civil, electrical and mechanical engineers and transport operation specialists.
Speaking at the start of the training, Director of Rail Transport, Engr. Olasunkanmi Okusaga who represented the Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Abimbola Akinajo, congratulated the trainees for being first workforce that will be operating the first diesel powered intra city rail system in Nigeria.
He admonished them to discharge their duties with all sense of diligence as anyone associated with LAMATA was tied to its quality management system as moderated by its International Standard Organization certification of ISO 9001:2015.
The visit and orientation signal’s LAMATA’S commitment to its workforce and ensure a smooth transition into the expanding workforce of the Lagos Rail Network.
Others who were at the training session, which would last six weeks, include Head, Human Resource and Administration, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Akintoye, Head, Corporate Communication, Mr. Kolawole Ojelabi, Head, Operations, Engr. Joseph Akinpelu, Consultant, Railways, Mr. Akinwale Akintola and Consultant Train Station Administration, Mr. Femi Odusina.
On the operations side were Niyi Ali, Executive Director New Day Integrated Construction Limited, Feyi Akinbile, Executive Director HR & Admin First Metro Infrastructure Limited and Mrs. Bolajoko Dosuyovo,
