The Nigeria Football Federation revealed on Monday that a Football Awards would soon take place, honoring and rewarding each month’s top players and coaches in the Nigerian game.
In its original format, these Awards will comprise seven categories that celebrate the efforts of players and coaching staff across the “beautiful game.” The purpose of these Awards is to further promote, enable, and encourage constructive conversations about the Nigerian game both at home and abroad.
Along with honoring and recognizing individual achievement, the NFF Awards will provide businesses and organizations significant sponsorship opportunities, potential, and opportunities to help the expansion, sustainability, and growth of the Nigerian game.
The NFF Awards project promises to be a cornerstone program for the sport in the nation, with a focus on celebrating individual and sector-wide accomplishments, encouraging meaningful and fruitful fan engagements, showcasing Nigeria Football on the international stage, and maintaining discussions about the Nigeria game on the front burner worldwide.
According to the NFF, the Awards and the lively discussions they will spark both online and off would greatly support the country’s efforts to reposition its domestic leagues and, in the end, spark the private sector’s unwavering interest in Nigerian football.
In the upcoming weeks, more information about the Awards will be made available, including the categories of awards, the nomination procedure, and the launch date.
