A certificate of excellence for his first 100 days of effective public relations was given to Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), at the recently concluded 2024 SABRE African Public Relations Association (APRA) Award and annual conference, which took place in Côte d’Ivoire on May 13.

As the largest continental awards competition for the public relations industry in Africa, Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the service’s spokesman, said at the conference that winning SABRE recognition speaks volumes to the winner’s level of creativity, integrity, and effectiveness in both public relations and governance.

“I am very grateful for this recognition and I hope this will inspire us in the Nigeria Customs Service to provide impactful leadership in governance,” said CGC Adeniyi in her remarks on the award and her appreciation to the organisers.

Additionally, I would like to thank Image Marchants, the people responsible for the PR escapades in Nigeria. Naturally, the past four days have been filled with networking, socialising, and effective public relations. I have high hopes for APRA’s further growth. The CGC says.

In addition to being an active member of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), the Comptroller-General of Customs is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
