Frank Igho Okpokoro Vaughan, a longtime Nigerian filmmaker and former Vice President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), has passed away.

Delta State native Vaughan was reported to have passed away in Warri on Tuesday following a protracted illness.

The tragic news was apparently confirmed to the media by his younger brother, Philip Okpokoro, who works as a series director and cinematographer for the reality TV program “Nigerian Idols.”

The seasoned director Vaughan was claimed to have mentored aspiring filmmakers and been instrumental in creating the Nigerian film industry.

In addition to being a political and current events expert, he is an experienced TV producer and director.

Vaughan, who was in his 60s, had recently been a pastor at Dominion City Church in Asaba, Delta State, until he passed away.
