FORMER Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, and two other principal career officers of the assembly, Dayo Samuel and Adeyemo Adedeji, have been arraigned before a Federal High Court presided over by Justice O.O Okeke in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, the state’s capital.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought Oluomo and the officials to court for alleged misuse of N2.5 billion in public monies.

He and others are accused of committing financial fraud while he served as speaker in 2022.

Eighteen of the House’s 26 members voted to impeach him for alleged highhandedness, blatant misconduct, arrogance, bad leadership style, lack of focus and transparency, and pitting members against one another.

But he went to the state supreme court to challenge his removal.

Today, immediately after the trio entered the dock, the court realized that the anti-graft agency’s counsel was unable to attend.

However, the case has been rescheduled for February 29th and March 1st.
