“FOUR YEARS COURSE MUST BE FOUR YEARS COURSE” was one of President’s Bola Tinubu’s most popular phrases during the campaign as he promised to bring an end to incessant strikes robbing Nigerian students of their precious time. It didn’t start because he was contesting, he was vocal about it during APC’s campaign for former President Muhammadu Buhari back in 2014.
– President Tinubu signed the Students loan bill into law on the 12th of June, 2023. Exactly 12 days after his inauguration marking one of his first acts as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The bill was first introduced to the National Assembly by former speaker Femi Gbajabiamila in 2016.
The students loan is designed to ensure all human contacts are removed to give room for transparency and accountability.
The scheme will also encourage foreign Institutions to invest in Nigeria as students can take loans to undertake courses in these institutions with branches in the country.
As announced tonight, Nigerians with interest in vocational education will be incorporated into the scheme as the President believes no one must be left behind.
Time is of essence but one by one, President Bola Tinubu keeps fulfilling everyone of his campaign promises to Nigerians.
This is just the beginning.
