Tragedy struck in the early hours on Monday, when fire gutted a residential building at number 49, Ogunjebe Street, Adealu Bus Stop, Dopemu-Agege, Lagos, burning a yet to be identified adult male to death.
According to eyewitness, the unfortunate which incident occurred at about 4 am, saw occupants scampered into safety.
The immediate and remote cause if the fire was unknown as of press time while investigation has started into the incident by relevant authorities.
The deceased was said to have been trapped by the raging inferno which gutted the upper floor of the a storey building.
The inferno seriously affected 2-bedroom flat with household contents destroyed in the process.
Director Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Magaret Adeseye, confirm the casualty recorded saying the body has been evacuated as of press time, 9 am.
