In Nigeria, experts in marketing and digital marketing have become entangled in a maze of bureaucratic red tape as NIMN teams up with the Nigerian Police Force to impose their will on unwary practitioners.

An analyst claims that those registered with prestigious associations like the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) and the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals of Nigeria (ADMARP) are among the targets of this onslaught.

It is “quite unfortunate that what was introduced as a commendable initiative to recognize these outstanding digital marketing and marketing professionals for their hard work can be turned into harassments and unjustified intimidation, as NIMN targets established figures who have demonstrated exceptional resilience, dedication, and innovation in their respective fields,” according to a statement signed by Mr. John Ajayi, Publisher/CEO of MARKETING EDGE.

“Instead of commemorating the accomplishments of these young star professionals, the institute is making them feel as though they are subject to unwarranted harassment and embarrassment,” he stated.

The unfortunate reality facing digital marketing professionals and marketing experts is that the very institution tasked with fostering professional growth and development is perpetuating a climate of fear and uncertainty. This is despite the fact that the digital technology industry continues to flourish and offers opportunities for creativity and entrepreneurship.
