Following his first invitation to the Super Eagles, Sadiq Ismail, defender for Remo Stars, is feeling very positive.
In the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for 2026 against South Africa and the Benin Republic, Sadiq is one of 23 players called up.
The right-back’s strong performance for Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League this season earned him the invitation.
This season, the 22-year-old has tallied 10 assists for the Sky Blue Stars.
In order to celebrate the invitation, he posted on social media.
“I’m overjoyed to have been called up to my first national team! Sadiq commented on X, “I’m excited to give it my all and make a significant contribution.
“I am incredibly appreciative and thankful to the @thenff and the coaching staff of the @NGSuperEagles for the chance.”
