The City of Lagos Chosen as One of 12 Cities for Jimmy Carter Centre Pro-Women Campaign Out of Over 300 Contenders

is among the 12 Cities selected for the Jimmy Carter Centre Pro-Women Campaign, shortlisted from over 300 Cities that earlier took part in the competition about two months ago.

The “Inform Women, Transform Lives” Campaign aims to make a difference in the lives of women in Lagos State.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu broke the news while opening the campaign at the Bagaulda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa. Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, the Governor said the campaign was targeted at alleviating the plight of women, especially those at the grassroots in line with the THEMES+ agenda of his administration, which has given priority attention to Social Inclusion, Gender Equality and Youth Development.

Sanwo-Olu noted that the campaign would provide a platform for women to receive information from all tiers of government, irrespective of their status, tribe and religion.

The theme of the City of Lagos version of the “Inform Women, Transform Lives Campaign” according to him, is “Gender Equality and Inclusivity”. The campaign is designed to raise awareness on where and how women can easily get information about city services that would be of benefit to them.
