Intentional pilgrims have once again been cautioned by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) not to fall for the con artists.
This was stated in a statement provided to media outlets yesterday by Fatima Sanda Usara, assistant director of public affairs of NAHCON.
Intenting pilgrims were advised by the commission to report anyone who asks them to pay extra administrative fees on top of the specified 2024 hajj fare.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria officially warns prospective pilgrims once more about the need to pay additional Hajj charges. The Commission has not asked pilgrims to pay any more administrative fees over and above the specified sum, and anyone who does so on our behalf is abdicating NAHCON’s authority and duty as the regulatory body.
Any further charges cannot be collected. If a pilgrim is requested to pay additional fees, they should send the name and location of the requester as well as proof of the request or payment. Please forward such documents to 09071800007, which is the WhatsApp number.
Only official NAHCON announcements that are posted on our website should be followed. Keep yourself aware and guard against scams, the statement advises.
