Afrobeats diva Ayra Starr, has denied knowing about the feud between Asake and Seyi Vibez, two of her colleagues.
There has never been a public altercation between Asake and Seyi Vibez, but there has always been tension between their fan communities, particularly on social media.
Ayra Starr was asked if she deliberately chose to collaborate with both men on her sophomore album, “The Year I Turned 21,” because of their rivalry in a recent interview with The Beat FM Lagos. She denied being aware of the rivalry.
She claims that she chose to collaborate with them because she adores their musical ability.
“I didn’t put Asake and Seyi Vibez on my album because of their rivalry,” the woman declared. The rivalry between Asake and Seyi Vibez was unknown to me. As artists, I adore them both.
I have a strong interest in sounds and what would sound excellent sonically. While my team is constantly considering business matters, my only concern is finding someone with whom I would get along acoustically. Additionally, I’ve been listening to “Different Pattern” by Seyi Vibez for a very long time. So I choose to collaborate with him. He sent his verse fairly shortly after I emailed him the record. They processed it quite quickly. In three days, Asake also sent me his verse.
