The appointments show the Transcorp Group’s continued dedication to institutionalizing best practices in corporate governance and making sure that the Board is made up of people who have a thorough understanding of the business environment in which the company operates.

Transcorp Power stated in a statement signed by Stanley Chikwendu, the company secretary, that Tuedor-Matthews has more than 40 years of experience and is a leader in the financial services sector. She led a major financial turnaround at Mainstreet Bank Limited as the former group managing director and chief executive officer, achieving outstanding results quickly.

Charles Odita joins Transcorp Power’s board with more than 40 years of experience, 30 of which he spent in senior and executive roles in the oil and gas sector. He progressed through the ranks of Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited, holding roles in drilling, research, and operations.

Speaking about the appointment, Transcorp Power chairman Emmanuel Nnorom stated that Transcorp Power will gain from the new appointees’ vast expertise and expressed his high confidence in them.

“Transcorp Power Plc is positioned to achieve more,” he stated, citing the company’s notable recent successes. We are happy to have Tuedor-Mathews and Odita join the Board of Directors at this rapidly expanding company. We are sure that their wealth of knowledge will be very helpful to us as we carry out our mission to better lives and transform Africa.

Transcorp Group’s transformation strategy involves powering homes, schools, hospitals, and industries throughout Nigeria through the 972 MW gas-fired Ughelli Power Plant operated by Transcorp Power and the 966 MW gas-fired Afam Power Plant operated by TransAfam Power, a non-quoted subsidiary of Transcorp Group.
