The criminal thriller is a part of her three-year partnership with Prime Video, which is a first of its type in Nigeria, to develop and produce original written TV series and feature films.

Audiences are curious to see what Osiberu’s next move will be after the mostly favorable reviews of “Gangs of Lagos.”

Greoh Studios’ writer, director, producer, and founder hinted her upcoming movie intentions online, reiterating that she does have a few projects set up.

The director claims that the range of her upcoming projects will include romantic comedies, murder mysteries, and otherworldly thrillers.

In her words, “To everyone crying about the violence, don’t worry, we’ll give you a rom-com this year. You’ll also soon get murder mystery, family (melo)drama, supernatural thriller, horror & more action and crime thrillers. In the words of Alaya Bam Bam, ‘e relasss’ We’re just beginning.”

Previous to her most recent film, Osiberu had worked on romcoms like “Isoken,” “Ayinla,” and action films like “Sugar Rush,” “Brotherhood,” and “The Trade,” firmly establishing her place among Nollywood’s most promising directors.

Her latest film, the first African Prime Video Original, follows three friends as they pursue their goals and fate on the perilous streets of Isale Eko. Tobi Bakre stars as Obalola, with Adesua Etomi-Wellington (Gift) and Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka providing support (Ify).

The film, which required ten years to produce, immerses us in a relevant, complex, and exciting world of corruption, drug trafficking, protection gangs, human trafficking, thievery, and murder.

Right now, “Gangs of Lagos” may be watched on Prime Video.
