Anthony Joshua
If Anthony Joshua prevails over Daniel Dubois in their forthcoming fight in September, he will take on the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk, according to boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
In a stunning second-round knockout over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou, Joshua cemented his supremacy in the ring during their most recent match in March.
Hearn made it clear in a recent interview with The Sun that Joshua’s return to the world heavyweight belt is still their first priority.
“If he wins in September, I expect the December fight winner to face Anthony Joshua,” he stated.
“There are three or four opponents in the running, and no decision has been made yet. However, it is the official plan.
Regaining the world heavyweight title is the top objective and has, without a doubt, always been the goal.
Thus, I believe it will take two fights for us to be unquestioned. However, we must defeat them.
In a historic bout, Usyk prevailed by split decision over Fury last month.
Usyk became the first boxer to unify the heavyweight class since Lennox Lewis in 1999 with this victory. Taking Fury’s WBC title, he added it to his already-held WBA (Super), WBO, IBF, and IBO crowns.
