Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged the populace to create a welcoming atmosphere for the recently assigned corps members.

At the 2024 Batch A, Stream II orientation’s ending ceremony on Tuesday at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) temporary orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, Sanwo-Olu made the announcement.

Additionally, he exhorted the corps members to ensure that their service year had a significant influence on Lagos State’s and Nigeria’s overall social-economic and political growth.

I beg you to accept your posting to any area of Lagos, viewing it as a chance to engage in community development initiatives, make a lasting impression on your host community, and leave a lasting legacy.

“Your services may be required in the aforementioned areas, just as your predecessors did in the areas of healthcare delivery system, educational services, and social services, among others.”

The Lagos State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations’ director of general service, Mr. Ibukun Dosunmu, represented Sanwo-Olu in stating that the state government would keep recognising and rewarding exceptional corps members at the conclusion of the service year.

In a statement, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, state coordinator for NYSC Lagos, stated that the corps members had received a variety of trainings during the orientation course to get them ready for the work at hand.

In their places of assignment, Baderinwa asked the corps members to be good representatives of the programme, their families, and their communities.
